MEET ERIKA

Erika Crowl is a wife, mom of boys, educator, and writer. She believes deeply in the power of words, and is slowly embracing her role in this world as poet.

This site launched in 2020 in the midst of a global pandemic and heated political season as a way to spread light through language.

Here you’ll find reflections + insights on creativity, writing, faith, family, mental wellness, and well…life. Consider this your invitation to join the endeavor to illuminate beauty in the world and point toward hope.

BIO

Words have enamored Erika since the first grade. She completed her BA in English and French Language and Literature from the University of Michigan (GO BLUE!) and her M.Ed in Language Acquisition from Rutgers University. Photography often fuels her writing, and her work appears in This is Happening: Life Through the Lens of Instagram (Chronicle Books, 2013) and Blessings in Disguise (EA Books Publishing, 2019). You can find this teacher-librarian sharing books with students, writing poetry, and exploring scenic New Jersey with her husband, two sons, and pup. Connect with Erika on Substack.
